I was so inspired by what was on the Dark Days menu a couple weeks ago that I had to try out a few things that looked too good to miss . I’m happy to report that Anita’s deep dish pizza is delicious!! We made the sauce with home-canned tomatoes and garden thyme and shared it with a garden salad and friends Saturday night. I didn’t get a picture after the pizza came out of the oven because we were too busy enjoying it, but here is a photo before it was cooked and the salad we ate. The cloche has done wonders for my late winter/early spring greens! We’re growing cress, mache, claytonia, minutina, Yugoslavian red lettuce and Australian yellow lettuce. All of these greens have overwintered great!
