Laura inspired me again. She has a way of doing that doesn’t she? Whether it’s getting the DDC started or hosting a potluck, she’s just good at getting people to step outside their comfort zones.
This week I tried making homemade pasta for the first time ever all because Laura posted about it last week. Her boiling noodles looked so delicious and temping…. and because she said it only took 1 cup of flour and 2 eggs, I decided I had nothing to lose.
I made homemade noodles and it was relatively easy! Now they didn’t turn out great, they were a bit too think and kind of chewy. But I don’t have a pasta maker yet and I’m willing to keep trying. It was rewarding to step outside my boundaries because of the Dark Days Challenge.
The eggs for the pasta came from our backyards hens, the flour was from Stone-Buhr. The pasta sauce was made last summer and stored in our freezer. The sauce’s tomatoes, onions and herbs came from our garden and the garlic from the Mukilteo Farmers market.
